While I was out running errands a few weeks ago, my parents asked if I could pick up some postage stamps. I went to the post office, but the line was extremely long! So, I decided to go to Walgreens since they sell stamps too.
I pull into the Walgreens parking lot and find a spot with an available parking space on my driver’s side. Typically, I get out of my car as soon as I park to go in the store to purchase what I need. But for some reason, definitely the Holy Spirit, I stayed in my car and waited a minute or so before getting out of my car.
Suddenly, a car driving 30-40mph or more speeds into the parking spot to the left of me without braking and slams into the building! Her airbags deployed. Her car door wouldn’t open all the way. The front of her car was completely damaged. Minutes later, EMTs, Firemen and Police arrived to help out. I safely pulled my car into another parking spot. Both me and my car were untouched even though I was inches away from the crashed car.
Wow. I’m still shocked. I am thankful to the Holy Spirit for protecting both me and the woman driving the car next to me. She walked out without any visible injuries. You can bet I was praising God all the way back home!
Psalm 91:1 says, "Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty." I believe this relates to my story because when you abide under the shadow of the Almighty, there is perfect protection from all things. If God hadn't prompted me to wait to get out of my car, this would be a very different story. I am so thankful for God's protection.
